Shane McAdam

Shane McAdam joined Kilmer Capital Partners Limited in 2021 and serves as Vice President & Head, Business Development and is responsible for originating and analyzing acquisition opportunities that align with KVN’s investment philosophy.

Shane comes to Kilmer from Capitalize for Kids, a not-for-profit that builds capacity in the kids’ mental health sector where he was Director of Business Development, leading all revenue-generating activities for the organization. Prior to Capitalize for Kids, Shane was part of a mid-market private equity firm where he led the sourcing and origination of Canadian investment opportunities. Before entering the private equity industry, Shane spent six years in banking, most recently in Corporate Banking with BMO Capital Markets, and prior to that, at CIBC Capital Markets primarily in Corporate Banking, with stints in Mid-Market Investment Banking, Cash Management, and Risk Management.

Shane holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and History from the College of the Holy Cross where he was a member of the men’s ice hockey team. He also holds an MBA from Ivey Business School and is a CFA charterholder. Shane has been recognized as a Private Equity Business Development Professional to Watch by Middle Market Growth/Middle Market DealMaker magazine. He is active with a number of charitable organizations including Movember and the Arthritis Society of Canada. Shane also serves on the Leadership Development Advisory Council with Capitalize for Kids and is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Toronto Chapter.
